Scholarship Funding for NPQs
You may know that funding allocations from the DfE for NPQs have changed.
For those schools eligible, scholarship funding is available for teachers and leaders in publicly-funded schools (including maintained nursery schools) and 16 to 19 educational settings in England for the following NPQs:
Early years leadership NPQ scholarship
Scholarship funding is available for the early years leadership NPQ for publicly funded early years settings and maintained nursery schools, including:
- private, voluntary, independent (PVI) settings
- Ofsted-registered early years childminders
- maintained nursery schools
- those working in publicly-funded early years educational settings

Funding for these courses is also available to:
- hospital schools
- young offender institutions
- local authority virtual school headteachers, staff in a defined deputy headteacher role and staff in direct teaching roles
- other local authority staff in direct teaching roles - for example, local authority supply or peripatetic teachers

Non Scholarship - What is the cost for schools who do not receive funding?
If your school isn’t eligible for DfE scholarship funding, either you or your school will need to fund your NPQ programme. You’ll find the cost of each NPQ below. There are no discounts available at this time.

Free One-to-One Support
If you work in a school serving deprived communities, you may also be eligible for Teach First’s free one-to-one support which runs alongside your NPQ of choice.
You’ll be supported by an experienced former school leader who will coach and guide you throughout your NPQ. You will be considered for this additional support when you apply for your programme either via Teach First or Potentia TSH.
