Scholarship Funding for NPQ's from Autumn 2024

You may be aware that funding allocations from the DfE for NPQ's is changing.

Funding for autumn 2024 will target those teachers and leaders who work in the most challenging schools or educational settings, serving more disadvantaged communities.

NPQ funding will now be a partially funded national model for the Autumn 2024 cohort. This means that only 10,800 funded places are available nationally (75% less than 2023-24), where there is a good chance supply outstrips demand in every region.

As outlined in the DfE's funding guidance report;

  • All state schools will be eligible for fully-funded places on the NPQH, NPQSENCO, NPQLPM and EHCO only
  • For all other NPQs, schools with the highest 50% of pupil premium pupils will be eligible for fully funded places, as well as early years and 16 to 19 educational settings identified as having high disadvantage

If you are a state school who wishes to access a different NPQ programme to those above and are not a school with the highest 50% of pupils, you will be required to pay for this NPQ.

You can find out more about which NPQ's are funded from Autumn 2024, by reading the funding guidance report from the DfE below.

If you would like to know if your school or setting is entitled to funding, you can access this information directly from the link below also.
