Potentia TSH Newsletter October 2024

October 2024

{item_alt_tag}

Dear colleague,

We hope you are well and have a great start to the year.

In our September newsletter I mentioned how we are looking forward to being your local TSH during our next designation period and I can gladly report that this year's operations are fully underway.

Last month we welcomed 111 new ECTs to the profession as well as welcoming back 160 ECTs who are returning for their second year of our ECF programme.

Our AB service is now working with 209 ECTs and their associated schools/settings as your recognised local AB service provider.

We are looking forward to working with our new NPQ programme members who are enroling across our range of NPQ programmes which commence this month.

In our October newsletter you will find information about all of our programmes and services alongside the regular spotlight section which, this month, focusses on your local Computing Hub and their CPD for primary schools available this term.

To help you receive the information and support you require via email from us, we would like to draw your attention to a section dedicated to Potentia Safe Senders.

Finally, there is an opportunity for your school to win a £50 Amazon gift voucher. To be in with a chance of winning, please take 5 minutes to complete our annual School Leader Satisfaction Survey. Once you have done so, you will be entered into the free prize draw. The deadline for entry into this draw is October 23rd.

Kind regards,

Alan and the Potentia Team

Potentia Safe Senders

It has come to our attention that some important emails around NPQ and ECF training, in particular, are not always making their way to the intended recipients and, as such, bounce back.

If you have colleagues in your school that access the Early Careers Professional Development Programme (EC PDP), Appropriate Body (AB ) Services, Initial Teacher Training (ITT) or the National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) we encourage you to ensure that @potentiatsh.co.uk domain is added to your school's safe senders / allow list. The following email addresses send out comms regarding these work streams:

Name Email Address Workstream
Jan Pierce npq@potentiatsh.co.uk NPQ
Jane Straw janestraw@potentiatsh.co.uk ECF/AB
Lucy Wood lucywood@potentiatsh.co.uk ECF
Nic O'Donnell nicodonnell@potentiatsh.co.uk ITT
Stacey Williams staceywilliams@potentiatsh.co.uk NPQ/ECF
Tracey Dundas traceydundas@potentiatsh.co.uk AB
Neil Besson neilbeeson@potentiatsh.co.uk Finance

Initial Teacher Training

School involvement in ITT benefits teachers, trainees and pupils. It enables leaders to spot and nurture talent and creates opportunities for the whole school team to engage in professional dialogue about evidence-informed practice.

Our September newsletter outlines a number of ways in which Derbyshire schools can work collaboratively with Potentia TSH in ITT. In this newsletter, we are delighted to invite secondary schools to work with us as we plan to offer a secondary ITT programme from September 2025.

Secondary PGCE Placements from September 2025

Plans are in place to offer a secondary ITT programme with University of Derby from September 2025. This will be the school-based, provider-led route.

As applications come in, we will be seeking support from secondary schools to support with the interview process and with placements from September 2025.

To express an interest, please contact itt@potentiatsh.co.uk
